What To Expect
Stop 1
⏱ 1hEdo-Tokyo Museum is the best place to learn Edo and the transition from Edo to Tokyo. For example, what are emperors, shoguns, and feudal lords and their roles in the Edo period. After that, we walk around the Ryogoku neighborhood.
Stop 2
⏱ 1hAsakusa has the oldest temple and shrine in Tokyo and is the most popular place among the Japanese and foreign people.
Stop 3
⏱ 30 minyou can enjoy (window) shopping. Also you will learn how to purify yourself before appearing in front of shinto deities and how to pray.
Stop 4
⏱ 1hHama-rikyu Gardens is one of the three most beautiful Japanese style gardens in Tokyo. (This is my opinion.) It was once the family garden of Tokugawa shoguns in the Edo period which functioned as an outer citadel defending the Edo Castle. If you are interested in Japanese tea called “matcha” made from powdered green tea leaves, you can try to have one. If you request another place, I can arrange it. (For example, if you have visited Asakusa already, I recommend visiting the Tokyo Skytree instead of Asakusa.)
