2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following personal information when you use our website or contact us:

  • Contact information — name, email address, phone number when you submit an enquiry or booking request.
  • Usage data — pages visited, time spent, referral source, browser type, via cookies and analytics tools (Google Analytics).
  • Communications — messages you send us via contact forms or email.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and process booking requests.
  • Send you relevant travel information or newsletters (only with your consent).
  • Improve our website and services through analytics.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

4. Cookies

Essential cookies keep the site working. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are off by default and are set only if you choose “Accept analytics” in the cookie banner. We do not use advertising or personalisation cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser (key tij-consent); clear your browser storage to see the banner again and change it. You can also block cookies in your browser settings.

5. Third-Party Partners

We may share your information with trusted third-party tour operators when you request a booking or experience. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above or as required by law. Enquiry data is typically kept for 2 years.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at [email protected].

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data from unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure. However, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Japan: Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI)

For visitors in Japan, and for personal information we handle in connection with services offered to people in Japan, we follow the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (個人情報の保護に関する法律, “APPI”).

  • Purposes of use (利用目的). We use personal information only to answer your enquiries and booking requests, to send newsletters you asked for, to measure and improve the website (analytics, only with your consent), to prevent spam and abuse, and to meet legal obligations. We will not use it for any other purpose without telling you or, where required, obtaining your consent.
  • Providing data to third parties (第三者提供). We do not sell personal information. We provide it to others only with your consent, where the law allows, or as needed to handle your request, for example passing a booking enquiry to the operator concerned.
  • Service providers (委託). We use service providers to run the site: Cloudflare (network and security), Google Analytics (statistics, only with consent) and Google reCAPTCHA (spam protection), Resend (email delivery) and Listmonk (newsletter). They may process data outside Japan, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to make sure these providers protect it.
  • Transfer to a third party in a foreign country (外国にある第三者への提供). Where we provide personal data to a third party outside Japan with your consent, we will first tell you the name of the country and the information required under the APPI. Data processing by service providers on our behalf is not treated as a provision to a third party.
  • Your requests (開示等の請求). You may ask us to disclose, correct, add to, delete, or stop using your personal information, or to stop providing it to third parties, and to disclose records of third-party provision. Write to [email protected]. We may verify your identity, and we respond within a reasonable period and without delay.
  • Operator details. On request we will promptly disclose the name of the operator of this site and the person responsible for handling personal information.
  • Complaints. You may contact us at the address above. You may also contact Japan's Personal Information Protection Commission (個人情報保護委員会).
