What To Expect
Stop 1
⏱ 30 minOishi Park on the north shore of Kawaguchiko is a park with a superb view of lake and Mt.Fuji at once. Various flowers bloom on the promenade along the lakeside according to the season. On a sunny day, there are many photographers who take pictures of Mt. Fuji, lake and flowers from early morning.
Stop 2
⏱ 1hThe park begins at the base of Mt. Arakurayama and extends up the mountain. At the top of a 398 stair hike is an observation deck that looks out over the cityscape of Fujiyoshida City and majestic Mt. Fuji towering above. Though the Spring sakura (cherry blossom) season is best for capturing the symbolic image of Mt. Fuji, cherry blossoms and five-storied pagoda, the park can be enjoyed throughout the year with a stunning view that changes with the seasons.
Stop 3
⏱ 1h 15mThe fifth station of Mount Fuji is 2300m high at sea level and located on the halfway of Mount Fuji. Fuji Subaru Line (Yoshidaguchi) 5th Station is the most popular among the 5th Stations of Mount Fuji. It is a good place to view the top of the mountain and there are many gift shops and restaurants for you to enjoy.
Stop 4
⏱ 45 minOshino Hakkai is a touristy set of eight ponds in Oshino, a small village in the Fuji Five Lake region, located between Lake Kawaguchiko and Lake Yamanakako on the site of a former sixth lake that dried out several hundred years ago. The eight ponds are fed by snow melt from the slopes of nearby Mount Fuji that filters down the mountain through porous layers of lava for over 80 years, resulting in very clear spring water that is revered by the locals.
