Bingoya, established in 1961, is a folk crafts store located in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The spacious store spans from the basement to the 4th floor, showcasing traditional folk crafts made by artisans from across Japan.

At Meiji Shrine, we will introduce its history and cultural significance. This beautiful Shinto shrine, dedicated to Emperor Meiji and Empress Shoken, is surrounded by a peaceful forest in the heart of Tokyo. You will learn how to cleanse your hands at the purification fountain and make a proper offering at the main shrine. This visit offers a calm and authentic experience of Japanese tradition and spirituality.

We will visit The Japan Folk Crafts Museum, a hidden gem showcasing the beauty of traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Founded in 1936 by Soetsu Yanagi, the museum celebrates everyday objects made by skilled artisans across Japan, from ceramics and textiles to woodwork and lacquerware. As we explore the exhibits, you will discover the philosophy of the Mingei (folk craft) movement, which values the simple, functional, and handmade beauty of these objects.
