From mid to late April, this casle area is one of the best cherry blossom viewing spots in Japan. There is a cafe you can enjoy apple pies and coffee. Near the Hirosaki castle park a Japanese restaurant serves nice local Japanese food that I recommend. Including the time from Hirosaki to Aomori by local train.
