Ginza Man'nen-do was founded in Kyoto in 1617! It is a long-established shop that catered sweets to the Emperor's family, the Tokugawa Shogunate, and temples and shrines. The store opened in Ginza to accompany Emperor Meiji during the capital's transition to the Meiji era. In the café space modernized with bamboo, participants will make Nerikiri, which is called the art of confectionery. The instructor is Yoshi Higuchi, the 13th-generation owner of a Japanese confectionery store with over 400 years of history and tradition. After making beautiful wagashi, enjoy them with matcha (powdered green tea) prepared by Master Yoshi. You are invited to try your hand at edible art incorporating the history of wagashi, ingredients, and motifs of the four seasons. Remember to take a picture before eating!
