📍Meeting point: Go to Shibuya-san, a tourist information Centre & an art center located on the ground floor of the Shibuya Fukuras Building. Look for a guide showing a signboard with your name on it. It is 1 minute on foot from Shibuya Station (JR, Tokyo Metro, Tokyo, Keio Inokashira Lines).
What To Expect
Stop 1
Pass byGo to Shibuya Station to take Tokyu Toyoko Line.
Stop 2
⏱ 1hTake the Tokyu Toyoko Line from Shibuya to Denenchofu. It takes about 20 minutes and take a walk for 5 minutes. First, we will visit Denenchofu, an affluent neighborhood situated above the Tamagawa River. This area exudes a quiet, residential feel because the neighborhood design was made with an English urban planning concept incorporating natural element. Mizoe Gallery is an awesome gallery in a Japanese-style house. You can fully experience artworks by Japanese artists as if you are at home.
Stop 3
⏱ 30 minJiyugaoka is just one stop from Denenchofu on the Tokyu Toyoko Line. We will stop Jiyugaoka on the way back from Denenchofu to walk around the town. Jiyugaoka is a posh, uptown, dotted with fashion and cafes. It is a perfect place to stroll and take a sweet break.
Stop 4
⏱ 1hAfter Mizoe Gallery, we return to the Denenchofu Station to take a train to Nakameguro. Walk 5 minutes to Sato Sakura Museum from the station. This art museum showcases Japanese-style paintings depicting cherry blossoms by Japanese artists. If you missed the cherry blossom season you can enjoy a variety of Sakura pictures featuring famous Sakura spots in Japan.
