Enoshima is a charming island located near Kamakura. From Enoshima, you can enjoy a stunning view of the surrounding sea and, on clear days, catch a glimpse of Mt. According to local legend, Benzaiten created Enoshima and later subdued a five-headed dragon that was terrorizing the region. The main complex features an octagonal building that houses one of Japan's three most revered statues of Benten, the patron goddess of Enoshima. Since Benten is also the goddess of wealth, some visitors choose to wash their money in the pond at the shrine for good fortune.

Lake Ashi was formed 3,000 years ago and is a serene lake surrounded by mountains, serving as the symbol of Hakone. The beautiful contrast between the white clouds, the blue lake, and the green mountains creates one of the most popular views in Japan. Regardless of the season, visitors can enjoy Lake Ashi from a sightseeing vessel designed to resemble a pirate ship.

While you're there, be sure to try the local specialty: Kurotamago, or black eggs, are unique to this area. These eggs are boiled in the hot spring water, which gives them their characteristic black shell. It is said that eating one of these eggs will prolong your life by seven years.
