Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine is one of the oldest shrines in Japan. It was founded in 211 by Empress Jingu.Sumiyoshi Shrine, affectionately called "Sumiyosan" by the people of Osaka, appears in many Japanese stories, from the old tales and the 11th century Tale of Genji to more recent literary works. The shrine is also home to a memorial to Nobel Prize-winning author Kawabata Yasunari (1899-1972), and it is also the setting for his short story "Anti-Bashi" (1948). The shrine has been a resident for more than 1,800 years. Also the Shrine is known as a sacred place(vortex site) for us!

Shinsekai is the most lively powerful southern part of Osaka city where Tsutenkaku Tower, a symbol of Osaka is located. This area is famous for Tsutenkaku, Janjan Yokocho, and large pufferfish lantern signs. The beginning of Shinsekai dates back to 1903, when the 5th National Industrial Exhibition was held in Tennoji and present-day Shinsekai. New attraction in Tsutenkaku called “Tower slider” is from the 3rd floor of Tsutenkaku Tower's intermediate observatory (22 meters above ground), the slide circles around the perimeter of the EV tower (one and a half turns) to the 1st basement floor (-4.5 meters above ground) in about 10 seconds, if you would like to be thrilled!
