Hakata Station: This is the gateway to Kyushu. The station is surrounded by large mall stores and hotels. It also has convenient access to Fukuoka Airport and Hakata Port. Enjoy one of the largest stations in Japan!

Kushida Shrine: One of Hakata's representative shrines with a history of more than 1,200 years, is a famous power spot in Fukuoka. It's also a great place to see the Hakata Gion Yamakasa, a traditional Hakata festival, decorated with the Yamakasa, a large portable shrine used in the festival. You can't miss the gorgeous mikoshi (portable shrine) with plenty of dolls and ornaments made by craftsmen. Let's get a taste of Japanese culture at the Hakata Gion Yamakasa festival.

Ohori Park: One of the features of this park is a large pond, where you can walk along the waterfront. Visit Nakanoshima (an island in the middle of the pond) across the bridge and enjoy a natural view that you won't find in a city!

Fukuoka Castle Ruins: Fukuoka Castle, built in the Edo period, was the largest castle in Kyushu. Some of the buildings on the site are designated as national important cultural properties. In the spring, it is a place of relaxation for the local people with 1,000 cherry trees in full bloom.

Fukuoka City Museum: You can learn about the history of Fukuoka. You can see the "Golden Seal" which is believed that the seal was given to Japan from China in 57 AD.
