Osaka Kita is one of the 24 districts of Osaka. It is especially marked by the locals in his rivalry with Osaka Minami, and has been for a long time. The Tsurunoten Shrine, also called Ohatsu Tenjin, is one of the most visited shrines in Osaka and a fortiori Kita, especially Umeda of which it is a protective shrine. It has more than 1300 years of history and it mainly celebrates Sugawara no Michizane, personality of the ninth century deified under the name of Tenjin, divinity of studies and knowledge. The shrine is also famous for the unfortunate romance between Ohatsu and Tokubei.

We take the subway from Umeda station to Shinsaibashi station to get to Minami, the bustling shopping district of the city. There will be something for everyone! The shopping street and boulevard, which reminds us of the Champs Elysées, welcome us for window shopping and tourism.
