What To Expect
Stop 1
⏱ 1h 30mDiscover Kitakyushu's izakaya culture on a guided tour of Kokura. Visit local bars and learn about the city's history as a birthplace of Japan's izakaya tradition. Once a heavy industrial hub, Kitakyushu was home to workers who would unwind with "kaku-uchi," a casual drinking style, after their shifts. Although the number of kaku-uchi bars has decreased, you can still experience this nostalgic style at select izakayas today. Join the 1.5-hour tour, led by an expert guide, and visit two local spots.
