In Hiroshima—a city known for Japanese sake, traditional calligraphy brushes, and a story of peace—this experience takes place in a historic storehouse at Kamotsuru Sake Brewery’s first brewery in Saijo, a space not normally open to the public. You will practice calligraphy using a special Kumano brush crafted from Hiroshima’s hibaku (survivor) trees, symbolizing resilience and peace. You will complete your own artwork on a shikishi board to take home. A professional calligrapher will write your chosen word or name onto the label of a premium Junmai Daiginjo sake bottle, creating a one-of-a-kind souvenir. The experience includes a guided sake tasting. Premium option: receive your own hibaku tree Kumano brush to take home. Located a short walk from Saijo Station.
