Take a ferry to Ainoshima Island, located 8 km off the coast of Fukuoka Prefecture. Explore the island, which is home to a large population of cats, and see the cats relaxing in the harbor. Meet your guide at the ferry terminal and board the ferry to Aijima Island. Enjoy the maritime scenery as you cruise to the island. When you get off the boat, see many cats relaxing in the harbor. Although they are not domesticated cats, they are very friendly and approachable. Crouch down to get a closer view of them and be amused to see them relaxing with their faces close to yours or showing you their bellies. However, please note that feeding the cats is prohibited. Enjoy the scenery of a port town on a remote island while interacting with these cats. The island has only recently begun to attract the attention of tourists.
