What To Expect
Stop 1
⏱ 10 minBegin your pilgrimage at the iconic bronze torii gate, marking the entrance to sacred ground.
Stop 2
⏱ 1h 30mAs we walk along the approach to the Hikosan Jingu Shrine, we visit the temple lodging ruins where the Yamabushi, or mountain ascetics, lived and entertained their pilgrim followers.
Stop 3
⏱ 15 minPay respects at the main worship hall of Hikosan Shrine.
Stop 4
⏱ 4hWe follow the mountain trails and visit the caves and ruins where they practiced their disciplines. If the weather is nice, let's have lunch at a spot with a spectacular view.
