Higashi Chaya District is located in the Higashiyama area of Kanazawa, adjacent to the Asano River. It is the largest among three well-preserved historical geisha districts in Kanazawa along with Nishichayagai and Kazuemachi, and the geisha still entertain here today.

Ochaya Shima is a historical geisha house in the Higashi Chaya-gai district of Kanazawa. The building is now a museum and gives visitors a look at the life of the geisha who once entertained here. Many of the former geisha houses in this area have been converted into guest houses or restaurants.

“Kazuemachi Chayagai” is one of the three biggest chayagai, tea house districts, in Kanazawa alongside Kanazawa Higashi Chayagai and Nishi Chayagai. This tea house district has a perfect match of nature and beautiful architecture of “O-chaya,” tea houses, surrounded by Mount Utatsu and Asano River, and you may hear the sound of Shamisen, a three-stringed Japanese instrument, at dusk.

Kenroku-en Park is the largest park in Kanazawa, one of the Three Famous Parks of Japan. The name means Garden of the Six Merits. It was originally the garden of Kanazawa Castle. The park was established in the 17th century and opened to the public in 1875.

Kanazawa Castle is a castle in the city of Kanazawa, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan. Kanazawa Castle was built in 1592 by Prince Maeda. In 1881 it was burned down. The castle has now been recreated and is a historical reconstruction except for the Ishikawa Gate.
