What To Expect
Stop 1
⏱ 10 minWalk across the bridge connecting the mainland to Enoshima Island while enjoying views of the sea. The guide explains how this crossing represents a shift from everyday life to a more reflective, island atmosphere. Time is included for photos.
Stop 2
⏱ 25 minLearn about the origins of Enoshima Shrine and Benzaiten worship. The guide explains why themes of love, marriage, and harmony have long been associated with the island, followed by a relaxed walk through the shrine grounds.
Stop 3
⏱ 20 minClimb toward Nakatsunomiya while experiencing the island’s slopes and stairways. The guide explains the meaning of ascending the island and the connection between faith and physical movement. Includes a short break and photo time.
Stop 4
⏱ 15 minVisit the shrine located at the island’s deepest point. The guide explains its role as a sacred endpoint where time, the sea, and belief have overlapped for centuries. A quiet moment is spent here before heading toward Chigogafuchi.
Stop 5
⏱ 20 minPause at the rocky shoreline to take in sweeping ocean views. Guests are encouraged to feel the changing waves, wind, and light while sharing a moment centered on the theme of long-lasting relationships.
Stop 6
⏱ 20 minView the caves from the outside while learning about Enoshima’s nature-based beliefs and the symbolism of caves as inner, sacred spaces. The tour does not enter the caves, focusing instead on atmosphere and context.
