Shinjuku Gyoen Autumn Leaves 2026

Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is one of Tokyo's best spots for autumn foliage viewing. The expansive garden combines three distinct styles: a formal French garden, an English landscape garden, and a traditional Japanese garden with a large pond and teahouses.

From mid-November to mid-December, the garden's maple and ginkgo trees put on a spectacular display of red, orange, and gold. The Japanese garden area is particularly beautiful with the reflection of colorful leaves in the pond. The garden is a peaceful escape from the busy Shinjuku streets.
